Insulation measurement conditions can change when HV loads connect

The set of connected high-voltage components can change as the vehicle starts or begins charging. A measurement made in one state may therefore cover a different circuit from a later measurement.

Interpreting the evidence

Record the state in which the warning appears and which functions had just started. A specialist can use the approved isolation process to relate the fault to the relevant part of the system. A single unexplained insulation number should not be treated as a complete diagnosis.

Keep this evidence

Include whether the event follows heating, air conditioning, charging or drive-ready activation.

Owners should report the pattern, not disconnect high-voltage components themselves. Safe isolation and testing are specialist work.

Speak to AXION

For EV and hybrid diagnostic assessment, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
