Proximity and control-pilot information should not be treated as the same signal

Charging interfaces can use separate signals for connection information and charge control. One recognised condition does not prove that the other part of the exchange is correct.

Interpreting the evidence

Identify the connector standard and vehicle implementation before interpreting data. Preserve charger and vehicle messages together so a technician can see whether connection recognition, permission or another stage failed. Approved test equipment is needed for electrical investigation.

Keep this evidence

Include the cable type, charging mode and whether the connector locks normally.

Do not apply resistance or voltage values from a different connector standard. This guide is not a live charging-pin test procedure.

Speak to AXION

For EV and hybrid diagnostic assessment, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
