A snapshot can preserve selected conditions associated with a fault. It is useful evidence, but it may not contain every parameter needed to explain what happened.
How to narrow it down
Keep the snapshot attached to its exact DTC and record when the scan was taken. Compare it with the reported symptom and any live recording. Differences can reflect different times or diagnostic conditions rather than a contradiction in the vehicle.
What to include with the fault report
Send the original report with snapshot labels and units intact.
Do not merge values from different fault records into one imagined event. Their relationship must be established.
