FRM, SAM & Body Electronics Repair
Assessment, repair and programming enquiries for FRM, SAM, BCM and BSI modules. Didcot workshop support and suitable UK postal module jobs.
Body electronics need a system-level diagnosis
FRM, SAM, BCM and BSI enquiries often begin with several apparently unrelated symptoms. Tell us which lights, locks, windows, wipers or other functions are affected and when the fault appeared. The precise module role and naming depend on the vehicle, so the label and full scan are essential.
AXION Automotive works on automotive control electronics and complex diagnostic problems from Didcot. Our approach draws on senior electronics and avionics engineering experience, with the work agreed around the actual module and fault evidence.
BMW and MINI FRM enquiries
Send the complete FRM label, vehicle details, fault report and a list of affected functions. Explain whether the original unit communicates and whether the issue followed battery work, programming, water ingress or another repair.
Mercedes-Benz SAM enquiries
Identify the exact SAM unit and its location as recorded by your garage. Provide all part-number suffixes and the scan report. If a donor has been fitted, send both labels and describe any coding already attempted.
BCM and BSI enquiries
Record the body functions affected, starting behaviour and communication status. Keep the original unit and tell us about previous repairs, replacements or data-transfer attempts.
What an assessment can establish
We first discuss the identification, reported symptoms and evidence already gathered. Depending on the job, the next step may be vehicle diagnosis, assessment of the original module, compatible data transfer, programming or replacement. A module name alone does not establish which route is appropriate.
For intermittent faults, record when the problem occurs: cold start, warm vehicle, rain, after standing or after a specific operation. Include photographs of visible connector or housing damage, but do not open the module just to make an enquiry.
Before you buy a replacement
- Ask whether the proposed donor’s complete hardware and software references are suitable.
- Keep the original unit available, even if another controller has been fitted.
- Describe whether the vehicle starts and which functions changed after replacement.
- Discuss coding and adaptation requirements before treating a replacement as plug-and-play.
Postal module work or a Didcot appointment
Where the module has been identified for assessment, we can discuss a UK postal route. If the underlying problem still needs diagnosis on the vehicle, arrange a workshop appointment. Do not send modules until the team has confirmed what is needed.
