LIN communication follows a schedule controlled by the leader. A quiet period can be part of normal operation rather than a failed wire.

How to narrow it down

For a mirror, sensor or actuator complaint, first establish what action should request communication. Compare a capture made during that action with the quiet period. Testing an inactive function without identifying the request can produce a false no-signal conclusion.

What to include with the fault report

Describe the command used, the device involved and whether other functions on that branch responded.

The wiring diagram and system description determine the expected behaviour. Do not assume that a healthy LIN line must carry traffic continuously.
