A data identifier selects information from a controller, but its meaning and scaling must match the application. A raw response is not automatically a correctly labelled physical measurement.
How to narrow it down
Use the supported diagnostic definition for the module and software version. Keep the raw value, units and conversion together when comparing tools. If one tool displays an implausible value, verify the interpretation before replacing the sensor or ECU.
What to include with the fault report
Send the data label, raw response where available and module software identification.
Do not apply an identifier’s meaning from an unrelated controller. Manufacturer-specific definitions can differ.
Speak to AXION
For CAN-bus and vehicle-network diagnostics, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
