Some active wheel-speed circuits encode information as changes in current. A voltage-only check can therefore miss useful evidence or be interpreted incorrectly.
Interpreting the evidence
Confirm the sensor design and the approved test arrangement. Compare the affected corner with a suitable reference under equivalent movement, while checking its supply and connection. Treat any difference as a reason to investigate the circuit and encoder together rather than immediately ordering an ABS unit.
Keep this evidence
Include the exact ABS code, affected wheel and any recent bearing or hub work.
Use the manufacturer’s values and connection method. An unsuitable test load can disturb the circuit and produce a fault that was not originally present.
