A moving volume bar confirms a displayed control response, not that sound reaches the speakers. The source, mute state and audio hardware need to be considered separately.
List which sounds are missing
Record radio, navigation, calls and warning sounds where normally supported. Check ordinary mute and audio settings. Include recent amplifier, battery or software work and any water in the boot or cabin.
Do not assume a functioning display proves the head unit or amplifier is fully healthy. The workshop should identify the audio architecture and assess its supplies and communication as appropriate. If safety-related warning sounds are missing, mention that explicitly when arranging the assessment.
