Some SENT implementations include a pause at the end of a message. A longer interval in the trace is therefore not automatically a communication dropout.
How to narrow it down
Identify the sensor format and compare the interval with the complete message structure. Check whether the gap is repeatable and expected before linking it to an engine symptom. A true interruption should be supported by the raw signal and the receiving controller’s fault evidence.
What to include with the fault report
Include several consecutive messages and the exact moment the symptom occurs.
A pause used by one sensor cannot be assumed for another. The fitted component and decoding profile determine the correct interpretation.
