Repeated loss of clock or preset settings can indicate that information or supply is not being retained normally, but it does not identify the battery or radio as the cause. Record which settings reset and which remain saved.
Look for a shared pattern
Does the problem happen after every lock cycle, only after a long park or after starting? Note dashboard flicker, slow cranking, recent battery work and aftermarket equipment. A radio that resets on starting presents a different timing pattern from one that loses settings while parked.
Do not fit a larger fuse or add an improvised permanent feed. The workshop should use the correct wiring information and measure the relevant conditions. Include the equipment’s make and model if it is aftermarket, plus installation details. If only the time changes while stations and other settings remain intact, describe that separately; automatic time or location settings may need checking before a hardware repair is considered.
