A contactless position sensor removes one type of physical sensing contact, but it still relies on the correct relationship between the sensor and moving mechanism. Installation remains important.

How to narrow it down

After actuator work, check the exact part variant, mounting and supported calibration process. Compare requested and reported movement with the actual mechanism using the appropriate procedure. A clean electronic signal alone does not establish correct travel or fitment.

What to include with the fault report

Include the original and replacement references and the work carried out before the fault.

Do not assume that a similar actuator is interchangeable or manually adjust it without the correct application information.
