A folding roof that stops between positions needs model-specific handling. Continuing to press the switch or manually pulling the structure can create additional damage if a latch, position input or mechanism is not in the required state.
Preserve the stopped condition
Note the exact message, which part moved last and whether the luggage separator or other normal prerequisites were in place. Record battery history and recent roof, boot or water-leak work. A photograph taken from a safe distance can help describe the position.
Use only the emergency procedure explicitly provided for the vehicle, or seek professional assistance. Keep people clear of the mechanism. Ask the workshop whether the vehicle needs recovery and how it should be protected from weather while awaiting inspection. A roof-control scan is useful, but the code must be interpreted alongside latch, sensor and mechanical observations; it is not a direct instruction to replace the controller.
