A sunroof that stops or reverses near closure may be responding to resistance, a position issue or a control problem. The symptom does not prove that the motor module has failed. Keep the opening clear and follow only the normal user procedure in the owner’s manual.
Record movement without forcing it
Describe where travel stops and whether tilt and slide behave differently. Mention roof repairs, glass work, battery disconnection or objects caught in the mechanism. Do not force the panel, bypass protection or place hands in its path to test the response.
If the roof cannot close, discuss secure storage and weather protection with the workshop. Avoid an unfamiliar learning routine until the mechanism has been checked appropriately. For the enquiry, include a safe photograph of the stopped position and any prior repair details. A technician needs to distinguish an incorrect position reference from genuine resistance before carrying out the relevant setup or repair.
