“DSG controller” is not enough information to book a programming job. Begin with the exact vehicle, gearbox identity and the part numbers from the original and replacement units. Tell us whether the controller is fitted to the vehicle and which parts of the repair are complete.
Separate the complaint from the replacement
Describe the original symptoms in ordinary language. Did it lose drive, refuse a gear or show a warning only when warm? Then describe what changed after the replacement. Keep these two stages separate so the technician can follow the repair history.
- Full vehicle and transmission scan reports.
- Original and replacement hardware and software identification.
- Details of clutch, actuator, wiring or mechatronic work.
- Any earlier programming attempt and its exact result.
Agree the scope of the session
ODIS online support may be appropriate for a supported programming, coding or setup task. We first check the application and the required access. Similar-looking controllers or a common gearbox family name do not prove interchangeability.
A software session does not repair worn clutches, hydraulic faults or broken wiring. If the job needs physical testing or a vehicle-specific adaptation procedure, the arrangement must include the appropriate equipment and a competent person at the vehicle.
Finish with a documented next step
Keep the report showing what was attempted, the result and what remains. Do not present a programming completion message as a complete gearbox repair. Discuss any remaining fault or abnormal operation before returning the vehicle to normal use.
The reference below explains the broader SVM context. It is not a fitment list or a DSG procedure for every gearbox generation.
Ask AXION about the next step
Our ODIS online programming and VAG coding service includes remote technician sessions at £100 per hour for agreed, supported tasks. Send the details before booking. We confirm suitability, expected time and any additional costs before work starts.
