A memory-related diagnostic message needs interpretation within the manufacturer’s test process. It does not automatically prove that the physical memory device is defective. The operating history and the conditions in which the controller recorded the fault remain relevant.
Save the event context
Include low-voltage incidents, interrupted programming and whether the module resets or loses communication. Keep the complete code and suffix, not a generic internet description. If a garage has measured supply behaviour during the event, provide the results and measurement conditions.
The workshop should explain which evidence supports internal failure and which vehicle-side checks remain outstanding. Do not erase memory or load an unrelated file as a first response to a fault description. Where component repair is considered, retain the original data and module. A successful code clear alone is not a sufficient check; verification should address the symptom and the specific conditions that caused the record.
