A charging failure associated with rain should be reported as a pattern, not immediately labelled a water-damaged charger or vehicle inlet. Record where the car was parked, which equipment was used and the exact warning. Stop using equipment that appears damaged or unsafe.
Preserve the original circumstances
Tell the assessor whether the fault occurs during rainfall, after washing or after the vehicle has stood overnight. Note whether it concerns one charging location or several. Photographs of visible external damage can help, but do not dismantle connectors, remove seals or probe the inlet.
Decide who needs to inspect what
The vehicle connection and charging equipment may require separate inspections by the appropriate specialists. A fixed-installation issue belongs with its qualified installer; vehicle-side diagnosis needs the correct automotive procedures. Do not attempt to dry internal components with improvised heat or bypass a protective trip.
