Missing lights, inoperative windows or a no-start complaint can lead a Ranger owner towards the body control module. Before selecting a BCM repair, keep the full fault report and a list of the functions that still work as well as those that do not.
The documented Ranger pattern
ECU Testing reports BCM faults on 2011–2015 Ranger T6 applications involving U1000 and U3000 alongside body-electrical symptoms. In that reference, U1000 relates to output-driver protection and U3000 to a module fault indication. These are not universal definitions for every make, controller and code suffix.
The pattern helps frame an enquiry. It does not eliminate wiring, connection, supply or external circuit checks on the actual vehicle.
Make the symptom list practical
State which lights or functions are affected and whether the complaint is constant. Include the first occurrence, recent work and any added accessories. If water ingress or connector damage has already been found, include the workshop’s photographs and findings.
Tell the assessor which controller stored each code. A generic scan that only lists U3000 without the module or additional failure information loses useful context. Do not clear the report before saving it.
Before fitting another BCM
Ask whether the original unit has been identified and whether the proposed replacement or repair is compatible with the vehicle. Establish what configuration or programming would be required and whether that work is included in the quote.
An output that has shut down may be reacting to a problem outside the module. A repair proposal should explain what checks support the conclusion and how the affected circuits will be validated afterwards. Do not bypass a protected output or fit a larger fuse to restore a function.
AXION can review a BCM enquiry with the Ranger year, part label and scan attached. Confirm assessment availability and dispatch instructions first. If lighting or other essential functions are unsafe, arrange suitable transport rather than driving the car to demonstrate the complaint.
Sources and next steps
Send AXION your vehicle and fault details or choose an assessment. Workshop appointments are in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal module work is available by arrangement for UK enquiries. Confirm acceptance before dispatch.
