Galvanic isolation in an EV charger is part of its design

An isolated converter transfers energy while maintaining the intended electrical separation between circuits. A repair must preserve that function as well as restore charging operation.

How to narrow it down

When assessing charger electronics, the repair scope should include the relevant insulation and functional verification required by the vehicle procedure. A unit that produces an output is not automatically ready to return to service if its protective separation has not been assessed.

What to include with the fault report

Send the module identity and any existing insulation-related test report.

Do not substitute components or repair materials that compromise the required isolation. Suitability must be established by qualified specialists.
