Power-up sequencing matters during an ECU bench assessment

A module may expect supplies, wake conditions and processor supervision in a particular order. An incomplete bench setup can produce a no-communication result that does not reflect the vehicle fault.

Interpreting the evidence

Check the exact module’s connection and start-up requirements before interpreting the result. Record the supply sequence and distinguish a setup limitation from a repeatable internal failure. Include the vehicle behaviour so the bench findings can be related back to the original complaint.

Keep this evidence

Send the full part number and the original vehicle fault rather than only stating that the unit is dead.

A failed informal bench test is not proof of an irreparable ECU. Suitable setup and application information are essential.

Speak to AXION

For ECU testing and component-level repair, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
