Unexpected neutral selection should be distinguished from the normal display or operating strategy described in the manual. If the vehicle loses the ability to move when required, record the exact selector display and warning rather than describing it only as slow engagement.
Capture the circumstances safely
Note whether the engine remained running, the stop-start system operated and the brake pedal was held. Include whether Drive could be selected again normally or required a restart. Do not deliberately recreate a loss-of-drive event in traffic.
The workshop needs the full scan and transmission identity to investigate the relevant inputs and operating conditions. A selector, supply, control or internal gearbox issue cannot be distinguished from this symptom alone. If vehicle movement is unpredictable, discuss recovery. Preserve any earlier repair report and ask how the proposed test will reproduce the stop condition safely and verify that the original complaint has been addressed.
