A transmission warning that appears after extended driving needs the operating history captured. Record journey duration, traffic conditions and the exact message. Follow any instruction to stop or limit operation; do not continue solely to collect more evidence.
Preserve the hot-state report
If a garage can safely scan the vehicle while the fault is present, retain that report as well as the later cold scan. Include relevant temperatures with their data labels and units. A warning disappearing after cooling is useful context, not proof of a particular failed controller.
Include the transmission history
Note servicing, previous repairs, fluid work and software or adaptation changes. The assessment needs the correct gearbox identity and its specified procedures. Do not use a temperature figure from another transmission as a universal limit.
For AXION, send the reports and explain whether the vehicle loses drive, changes gear differently or only displays a warning. Ask what the initial electronics assessment can establish and which mechanical checks may be needed elsewhere. A short bench test may not reproduce every installed thermal or load condition, so agree the referral evidence before removing the TCU.
