A seat that moves correctly can still have a heating or ventilation fault. Report the temperature-control problem separately from memory or movement faults, and explain whether the switch indicator changes when you select another level.
What the component does
HELLA distinguishes memory seat control from heated-seat control. Its heated-seat module can coordinate heating, ventilation and cooling functions, depending on the installed equipment. Later integrated seat platforms may combine several functions in one controller. The actual seat specification therefore matters more than a generic label such as “seat ECU”.
Information that helps an assessment
Tell us which seat and which area is affected, whether the fault appears immediately or after a few minutes, and whether both heating and ventilation are fitted. Include liquid spills, seat repairs or replacement parts in the history. Stop using the function if the seat becomes excessively hot or develops a burning smell. Do not remove upholstery or unplug restraint-related connectors simply to identify a comfort module.
Before ordering or removing a unit
A fault message identifies a system to investigate; it does not prove that its control unit needs replacement. Record the complete scan report and component identification before codes are cleared or parts are ordered. Repair suitability depends on the exact unit and the findings from diagnosis.
