Supply the model year and the module identity
Registration year and model year are not always interchangeable. For an enquiry, provide the vehicle details, original module label and any replacement label. Explain whether the unit is new, used or repaired, and whether the vehicle currently starts.
The proposed task might be a software update, replacement registration or investigation of a communication failure. Keep those descriptions separate. A generic request to code the ECU can conceal an unresolved compatibility problem or a fault that predates the replacement.
Check the legitimate access route
Honda’s requirements vary with the operation and the applicable market arrangements. The workshop should confirm those requirements before promising completion. An owner’s authority to request a repair does not mean every tool or account can perform every security-related function.
