A driver may regulate current during normal operation and separately shut down for a fault. A flattened current trace does not automatically mean the driver is defective.
How to narrow it down
Identify the device’s operating mode and compare the trace with the command and mechanical movement. Determine whether current is being controlled as intended or whether a fault response occurs. The difference affects whether the next check concerns the load, control request or electronics.
What to include with the fault report
Include the current and voltage recordings from the same event.
Protection thresholds are not universal. Do not increase them or fit a larger fuse to make an unexplained load operate.
