A LEAF that will not enter its ready state may store both a restart-inhibition code and an isolation warning. Clearing the entries is not a diagnosis. Preserve the complete scan and the warning shown on the dashboard.
What Nissan documented
Nissan bulletin NTB23-024A covers specified 2019–2025 LEAF ZE1 vehicles with a 62 kWh battery and P31E7 together with P0AA6 in the EV/HEV controller. Its repair route applies only after the prescribed diagnosis identifies a lithium-ion battery module as the source. It then addresses inspection for a bent retention plate and module replacement where applicable. If a battery module did not trigger the codes, the bulletin directs further diagnosis instead. Read Nissan NTB23-024A.
Check the vehicle specification first
This US bulletin is not a finding about your car and does not cover every LEAF battery. Battery size, build details and the current manufacturer procedure must be confirmed for a UK vehicle. An isolation warning does not, by itself, prove that the complete battery needs replacement.
Information for an assessment
- Model year and battery capacity, plus the exact dashboard message.
- The full code report showing which controller recorded each code.
- Whether the warning appeared during charging, after parking or while driving.
- Recent collision, water exposure, battery work or charging problems.
- Any previous diagnosis and whether the codes were cleared or returned.
Tell us whether the car currently moves and where it is located so we can discuss a suitable assessment route. Follow the vehicle warnings and recovery advice; do not open the traction battery or attempt to defeat an isolation or restart restriction. High-voltage diagnosis needs appropriately trained personnel and the specified equipment.
AXION supports owners and independent garages with EV and hybrid diagnostic enquiries. Send your existing report through our repair enquiry form, or call 07440 134303. We will confirm whether the vehicle is needed at our Didcot workshop or whether a removed module is suitable for UK postal assessment.
