Pressure values can use different reference points. Absolute and gauge readings cannot be compared directly without understanding what each instrument or data item represents.
Keep units and references
Save the tool label, units and operating condition with the reading. Ask whether the expected value comes from the correct service information. A unit conversion or reference misunderstanding can make a plausible value appear faulty.
Do not adjust control settings to make unlike measurements agree. A workshop should explain the relationship between the displayed parameter and any independent test. For an enquiry, send the original report rather than manually converting figures without context. Clear measurement definitions help avoid replacing a sensor that is reporting correctly in a different format.
