A used controller may contain identity information from its previous application. Record the module source and identifiers before attempting commissioning. Do not assume that changing one visible VIN field makes a donor compatible or completes all required matching.
Establish the legitimate repair route
Supported replacement procedures vary by vehicle and module. Some operations require authorised online access or may not support reuse of the chosen unit. Ownership and compatibility checks should precede any security-related work. Keep the original controller available.
Preserve the full identification report
Include hardware and software numbers, current faults and what has already been attempted. Distinguish a scan-tool display of stored identity from the vehicle’s actual registration information. Do not alter records to conceal the donor’s history or post identity and security data publicly.
Contact AXION with the vehicle details, original and donor labels and the intended repair. Ask whether the proposed route is supported before buying additional parts. The quotation should explain what can be done to the removed unit and what must be completed with the vehicle present. A cleared mismatch message alone is not proof of a fully commissioned replacement.
