Electronic repair of a removed transmission controller and completion of the vehicle installation are separate stages. Depending on the unit and work, further manufacturer-specified checks or setup may be required before the vehicle is ready for use.
Agree responsibilities before dispatch
Ask what the bench assessment covers, what data is retained and what instructions accompany the returned unit. Give the specialist the transmission identification and previous programming history. The installing garage should know which checks remain its responsibility.
Do not assume that every TCU needs the same adaptation routine or that a successful bench result proves the entire gearbox is healthy. Preserve the original scan and compare the post-installation result. If a warning remains, report the exact message and completed steps before repeating procedures. A clear handover prevents an installation requirement, compatibility issue or vehicle-side fault from being confused with failure of the electronic repair itself.
