If several modules disappear from a scan at once, the pattern matters more than the number of warnings. Start by preserving the complete report. A list containing only the most alarming code can hide the relationship between the missing systems.
What a gateway does
A gateway connects vehicle communication domains. NXP describes its MPC5668G gateway MCU as bringing multiple communication protocols together. Actual vehicle topology varies: access to one network does not prove that all other networks are healthy. NXP gateway example.

A practical scan comparison
Make two lists: controllers that respond and controllers that do not. Add the operating conditions—ignition state, battery condition, whether the car starts and whether the problem occurs after sleep. Include a previous healthy scan if available. This gives the diagnostician a better starting point than replacing every controller named by another controller.
Recent tracker, audio, towbar or alarm installation belongs in the history. So does accident repair. Describe the modification without assuming it caused the fault; the purpose is to give the workshop a reliable sequence of events.
Programming access is a separate question
A diagnostic tool being unable to perform a write operation does not automatically mean that the gateway has failed. Access permissions and supported diagnostic functions must be checked separately from electrical communication. Do not bypass the security gateway to make a generic tool complete a job.
Send a network-fault enquiry. Whole-vehicle diagnosis may be needed before any module is suitable for postal assessment.
