Water-damaged SRS equipment is not automatically suitable for cleaning

Water exposure can affect more than visible surfaces. Whether an affected restraint component may remain in service depends on the exact equipment, exposure and manufacturer requirements.

How to approach the assessment

Tell the workshop how water entered and which components were exposed. Do not treat drying, cleaning or a cleared warning as proof of suitability. The repair plan should identify required replacement and verification separately from any diagnostic work.

Useful details to send

  • Exposure history.
  • Components identified as affected.
  • Inspection findings and replacement requirements.

Arrange the right assessment

This guide does not establish that a vehicle is safe to use. Restraint repairs need qualified assessment and the correct manufacturer instructions. A module service does not replace required component repairs or vehicle-level verification.

Ask AXION about your repair or read our SRS module assessment information. Workshop visits are by appointment in Didcot. Confirm suitability before posting any removed module.
