A hybrid’s engine can start and stop as part of normal operation, but a noticeable heating complaint still needs an accurate description. Record whether air temperature changes, airflow changes or the fan stops altogether when the engine stops.
Identify the vehicle and conditions
Include the hybrid type, outside temperature, selected climate settings and whether the complaint occurs at idle, in traffic or during normal movement. Different hybrid systems provide cabin heat differently; a procedure from another model may not apply.
Explain the change from normal
Tell the workshop whether this has always happened or began after a repair, coolant service or software update. Include warnings and any loss of demisting performance. Do not force the engine to remain running using undocumented modes or leave a vehicle operating in an enclosed area for a heating test.
A useful assessment compares the heating request with the vehicle’s actual operating state and the fitted equipment. Send AXION a concise event description and existing scan information. Agree whether the work needs the complete vehicle and whether additional cooling-system expertise is required. If visibility is compromised, resolve that before continuing to drive.
