A change after an adaptation reset needs the exact operation and reason for performing it recorded. Do not assume that another reset will improve the result. The vehicle’s specified procedure determines when adaptation is appropriate and what conditions are required.
Preserve the before-and-after behaviour
Did judder exist beforehand, or was another complaint being investigated? Record whether the routine completed, aborted or required a follow-up procedure. Include the tool version and any fault messages. Keep the original service and repair history alongside the reset log.
Do not separate the gearbox from its condition
Learned values and mechanical operation are related diagnostic considerations, but a reset does not repair worn or damaged components. The assessment should review compatibility, prerequisites and physical condition using the correct transmission information. Avoid repeated driving exercises copied from another gearbox.
