Car Starts but the Keyless Lock Button Does Not Respond

A vehicle that starts normally but will not lock from an exterior touch button has a specific access complaint. Starting successfully does not verify every exterior sensor, handle or operating condition involved in keyless locking.

Compare the normal routes

State whether remote-button locking works and whether the problem affects one handle or every handle. Follow the owner’s instructions about key position and door closure. Note rain, freezing conditions, handle repairs or recent battery changes.

Do not leave the vehicle unsecured while assuming the touch command worked; verify locking through the normal indicators and manual guidance. A workshop should identify whether the exterior request is detected and whether the vehicle permits it. Provide photographs of any warning and describe the exact control used. Keeping locking, unlocking and starting observations separate helps avoid unnecessary immobiliser programming when the complaint concerns a local access function or operating condition.
