A warning after coolant work needs the exact product, quantity and reason for topping up. EV thermal systems can contain separate circuits with model-specific requirements. A reservoir visible under the bonnet does not identify every circuit or service procedure.
Preserve the maintenance record
Tell the workshop whether there was a leak, a low-level message or previous cooling work. Do not add more fluid or mix products experimentally. Follow the owner’s warning instructions and avoid opening hot or unfamiliar systems.
The vehicle may need specialist thermal and electrical assessment before any battery component is considered for removal. Provide the warning and scan with the coolant history. The fact that the message appeared after topping up is a diagnostic lead, not proof that a BMS replacement is required.
