An illuminated switch or dashboard symbol confirms a displayed request, not necessarily power reaching the lamps. First establish which front or rear fog function the vehicle actually has and what its manual says should operate.
Record the requested function
State whether other exterior lights work and whether the fault followed bulb, bumper or towbar work. Some arrangements are asymmetric by design, so compare with the documented equipment rather than assuming both sides must illuminate identically.
The workshop should identify supplies, control and lamp configuration before replacing a module. Do not bridge relays or alter wiring based on a similar-looking model. Provide exact vehicle details and the symptom so diagnosis starts with the correct lighting arrangement.
