A touch input activating the wrong control is different from a slow system or a completely unresponsive screen. Record whether the offset is consistent and whether it changes with temperature.
Check the external condition
Mention screen protectors, cleaning products, visible damage and recent replacement. Use only the manufacturer’s cleaning and normal user procedures. Do not press harder or attempt unofficial calibration software.
If the screen controls essential functions, arrange assessment before relying on it in traffic. A stationary video can demonstrate the mismatch without sharing private content. The workshop should distinguish the touch layer, installation and software behaviour before recommending replacement of the entire infotainment assembly.
