If a wet module has been heated, tell the specialist before testing. Heat exposure and any cleaning may alter evidence or create additional damage, so the original condition should not be presented as untouched.
Record what was attempted
State the method, approximate duration and whether the unit was powered afterwards. Preserve photographs from before treatment if available. Do not continue heating or opening components to make them appear ready for dispatch.
Ask the recipient how the unit should be safely handled and whether the complete vehicle needs assessment. A module that briefly communicates after drying is not necessarily restored for service. The repair route should include exposure history, vehicle-side checks and appropriate protection after any supported electronic work.
