Saltwater exposure should be explicitly disclosed when arranging vehicle or module assessment. A dry appearance does not establish that contamination and its effects have been removed.
Arrange appropriate handling
State the exposure area, duration and whether the vehicle was powered afterwards. For EVs and hybrids, tell recovery and assessment providers about any possible battery-area exposure. Do not restart or charge a vehicle with unresolved flood damage merely to check whether it works.
The specialist should define the inspection scope and limitations before components are sent. Retain photographs and incident records. A brief bench response cannot prove long-term reliability after contamination; any repair recommendation needs to account for the actual exposure and affected vehicle systems.
