A warning following bumper painting needs the body-repair record and sensor installation considered. Coating, mounting and connections may be relevant, but the exact requirements depend on the system.
Preserve the repair details
State whether sensors were removed, replaced or painted and which part of the bumper was repaired. Record whether one position or the entire system is unavailable. Do not scrape paint or alter sensor faces as a trial fix.
Ask the repairer to assess the installation against the relevant instructions. The electronics workshop should use fault data and appropriate tests before replacing the parking controller. If the system cannot be relied on, manoeuvre using normal observation and assistance rather than assuming a silent sensor means the area is clear.
