If an ECU file cannot be opened by another workshop, that does not necessarily mean the file is corrupt. Start by identifying the tool and whether it operates as a Master or Slave. That information belongs in the first message to a file-service provider.
Why the existing tool relationship matters
AutoTuner describes its Slave calibration files as encrypted and intended for processing by the linked Master. Its Master files use a different workflow. These are product-specific arrangements, so another tool manufacturer’s format or account rules must be checked separately.
Sending a file to a new provider does not automatically establish that the provider can process it. Confirm compatibility before purchasing a service or changing anything in the tool account.
Include enough information to identify the route
- The tool manufacturer and model, and whether it is Master or Slave.
- The ECU hardware and software identification, with the vehicle details.
- The reading method and the file extension as originally saved.
- Whether an existing provider is already supporting the job.
- The actual work requested, including any earlier calibration changes.
Do not send account passwords, licence keys or remote-access credentials in a routine enquiry. If the tool manufacturer requires an authorised account action, use its official process. AXION can first establish whether the file-service request is within the supported scope without those credentials.
Keep the original package intact
Avoid renaming an encrypted file to make it look like an unencrypted binary. Changing an extension does not establish compatibility. Send a description of the package first and wait for the agreed transfer instructions.
Where several parties are involved, nominate one contact to keep the job record consistent. The installer, file provider and vehicle owner need the same understanding of the requested outcome and the version intended for use.
AXION offers calibration and file-support enquiries for suitable applications. Acceptance depends on the file, tool relationship and vehicle. Confirm that arrangement before promising a completion time to your customer or booking the car for programming.
