P130A can describe cylinder disabling after excessive misfiring on the VAG applications documented by Ross-Tech. The ECU may stop injection to protect the engine and catalyst. An injector no longer being commanded does not therefore prove that its ECU driver has failed.
Keep the earlier misfire codes
Save the complete report, including cylinder-specific faults and occurrence conditions. Explain whether rough running began before injection was disabled. That sequence helps distinguish the protective response from the original failure.
Record ignition, injector, fuel and mechanical checks already completed. A changed coil or plug is a repair action, not proof that every possible cause was eliminated. The report should say what the test established.
Address the cause before resetting
Repeatedly clearing the code to restore operation can conceal useful evidence while the damaging misfire remains. Follow the vehicle’s warning guidance, particularly with severe rough running or a flashing engine lamp.
AXION can review ECU-control concerns where the evidence points towards electronics. Send the pre-clear scan and test findings before removing the controller. The supported repair must resolve the misfire cause and verify operation; restoring injector command for a short period is not a sufficient result on its own.
Arrange an assessment
For ECU testing and repair, send the vehicle details and fault report to AXION. We support enquiries from drivers and garages. Workshop, postal and remote options depend on the job and are confirmed before booking.
Technical reference
Read the supporting technical documentation. The referenced design or vehicle application defines its scope; it is not a universal repair procedure.
