An FRM problem can affect several body functions at once. When lighting or windows stop working around battery work, record the earlier fault history as well as the most recent event.
What MINI documents for 009CBB
MINI SIB 61 02 26, dated April 2026, covers specified R55–R61 models and years. It describes an unresponsive FRM and fault 009CBB in connection with lighting faults and short-circuit history. The bulletin includes a controlled reset assessment but requires follow-up diagnosis and repair of the underlying electrical fault. A successful reset alone does not complete that work. Read MINI SIB 61 02 26.
Keep the fault and communication records together
The same bulletin highlights A3B4 and A3C1 instrument-cluster message faults as relevant to communication difficulties with the specified tool. It does not say that every unresponsive FRM can be reset. This US-market document must be checked against current information for the actual UK vehicle and its equipment.
Prepare your enquiry
- The exact MINI model, build year and FRM label details.
- The complete scan, including 009CBB and any instrument-cluster entries.
- A list of lighting, window, mirror or locking functions affected.
- Whether any lamps, wiring or connectors were faulty before the battery was disconnected.
- What battery, programming or FRM work has already been attempted.
Tell us if the fault was present before the latest workshop visit. Keeping that distinction clear helps avoid treating the last action as a proven cause. Do not keep resetting a protection-related fault while leaving the original circuit problem unresolved. We can discuss module assessment and the vehicle checks needed alongside it, without assuming that a replacement controller is the starting point.
AXION supports owners and independent garages with MINI FRM testing and repair enquiries. Send your existing report through our repair enquiry form, or call 07440 134303. We will confirm whether the vehicle is needed at our Didcot workshop or whether a removed module is suitable for UK postal assessment.
