A vehicle moving under its own power does not answer every question about collision damage. Tell the assessor where it was struck, whether the underside was involved and which warnings appeared before or after recovery.
How to approach the assessment
Separate the ability to move from the condition of the battery enclosure, cables and restraint systems. A short drive cannot establish that concealed damage is absent. Do not arrange a proving drive simply to see whether a warning returns.
Useful details to send
- Impact location and existing photographs.
- Whether any airbags or belt pretensioners operated.
- Recovery method and any attempts to charge.
