A resistance result depends on the network segment and circuit state being measured. A value taken at one connector should not be compared blindly with a reading from another route or vehicle.
Identify the measurement boundary
Keep the test points, disconnected components and approved shutdown state. The technician should use the actual topology and manufacturer procedure. A commonly quoted resistance is not a universal criterion for every network arrangement.
Do not add terminating resistors to make an unknown measurement match an internet example. If communication fails, the report should connect the reading to the relevant segment and fault condition. Correct interpretation requires knowing what was included in the measurement, not merely the number shown on the meter.
