A damp carpet and body-system warnings should be reported together. Moisture can remain beneath surfaces that feel dry, so a superficial inspection may not establish the full extent of exposure.
Describe the location accurately
Record which footwell, how long it has been damp and any windscreen, heater or door-seal work. Include failed functions and their timing. Avoid removing trim around restraint wiring or unplugging unfamiliar connectors.
Ask the workshop how it will investigate the moisture source alongside the electronics. A repaired controller can remain vulnerable if the leak persists. A useful enquiry distinguishes confirmed exposure from guessed internal damage and includes the tests already performed on the vehicle.
