If the dashboard wakes normally but Drive remains unavailable, record the exact selector message rather than describing the vehicle simply as dead. Note whether Reverse is also unavailable and whether the brake lights respond.
What changes the investigation?
Tell the workshop whether a charging cable was connected, a door was open, or a recent repair preceded the fault. These details help it check the applicable interlocks and selector inputs without assuming that the traction motor has failed. Requirements differ between vehicles.
Do not repeatedly force the selector or attempt improvised interlock bypasses. If the car cannot be secured or moved normally, arrange suitable recovery. Provide the full scan and a photograph of the displayed operating state; a scan taken after restarting may no longer show the conditions present when selection failed.
