Lane Assistance Unavailable Without a Stored Engine Code

An engine-only scan does not assess every driver-assistance function. Record the precise lane-assistance message and which diagnostic systems have actually been checked. “No codes” should include the scope of the scan, not be treated as proof that no fault exists anywhere.

Establish the operating context

Check the handbook’s feature limitations and note whether the behaviour is new. Include windscreen work, camera repairs, software changes and related warnings. Do not perform an unsafe road manoeuvre to test whether the system intervenes.

Request the relevant system report

A suitably supported diagnostic tool may be needed to assess the fitted assistance equipment and its prerequisites. Preserve messages such as unavailable, blocked or calibration incomplete exactly as recorded. They can require different follow-up questions.

Send AXION the vehicle details and available reports to discuss the supported electronics assessment. Confirm any calibration requirement with an appropriately equipped provider. The driver remains responsible for vehicle control while the feature is unavailable. A lack of engine faults and a cleared dashboard message are not substitutes for identifying the assistance-system condition and completing its required checks.
