If an ODIS operation stops, a precise record is more useful than a series of fresh attempts. Save what is already available and follow the active manufacturer procedure. Do not improvise repeated disconnects or retries to see whether the warning disappears.
Record the interruption
- The complete error wording and when it appeared.
- The operation being attempted and module identity.
- The diagnostic-session report and any result files already saved.
- Any loss of internet, laptop power, interface connection or vehicle power support.
Tell us whether the diagnostic tool still communicates with the vehicle and whether any action was taken after the interruption. If you do not know, say so. A clear account helps us decide whether a supported recovery assessment is possible.
Why the original procedure matters
Volkswagen’s published 37U2 programming instructions include checks for power support and the diagnostic connection, along with specific reporting steps if an update fails. They show the importance of the applicable procedure; they are not recovery instructions for every Volkswagen Group vehicle.
Arrange the next attempt
AXION reviews the report, vehicle and module details before agreeing a remote session. We also need to know whether the equipment and connection conditions can be made suitable. Some cases require on-vehicle diagnosis or work on the module rather than another online attempt.
Discuss the proposed work, expected time and possible additional costs before starting. Preserve the original unit and existing records. Do not buy another controller solely on the assumption that a failed programming session proves the original one is beyond assessment.
Ask AXION about the next step
Our ODIS online programming and VAG coding service includes remote technician sessions at £100 per hour for agreed, supported tasks. Send the details before booking. We confirm suitability, expected time and any additional costs before work starts.
