P0A0D High-Voltage Interlock Warning: Keep the Safety Circuit Intact

An EV or hybrid that refuses to enter READY after component work needs its repair history preserved. With an interlock-related warning, the important owner-level action is to document what happened and arrange assessment, not to make the warning disappear by altering the circuit.

What the code identifies

Snap-on associates P0A0D with a high indication in HV interlock circuit A. See the DTC reference. The exact manufacturer description and subcode must guide the investigation.

Tell the technician what was touched

Include recent servicing, accident repairs, battery work or removal of an electrical assembly. State who carried out the work and whether the vehicle entered READY afterwards. Photographs already taken during the professional repair may help; do not reopen covers to obtain new ones.

Keep the full scan and identify the controller reporting the fault. Record whether the warning appeared immediately or only on the next start attempt. If several codes are present, send all of them in their original report.

No bypass as a diagnostic shortcut

Do not bridge an interlock, defeat a connector lock or repeatedly remove a service disconnect. These are not owner-level ways to prove a repair. High-voltage access and testing require a suitably trained technician following the vehicle-specific procedure.

Ask AXION about the assessment with the vehicle details before arranging transport. High-voltage assemblies and batteries must not be posted without a specifically agreed handling and transport arrangement.
