Electric-drive systems can contain more than one machine and controller. A repair request saying only “motor sensor fault” can therefore lose important information. With P0A4B, keep the generator designation exactly as it appears in the vehicle’s diagnostic report.
Use the complete identification
Snap-on places P0A4B in the generator-position sensing circuit. Read the DTC reference. That generic entry does not identify the sensing technology, connector layout or replacement assembly on a particular model.
What happened before the warning?
Include drive-unit, transmission, inverter and harness work, even if it was completed elsewhere. State whether the car entered READY after the work and whether the warning began immediately or later. Keep original and replacement part identities where available.
For a technical referral, attach the complete scan with manufacturer subcodes. Label any position-related data or captures by the exact channel name and reporting controller. Do not rename an unfamiliar channel to match a generic explanation found online.
Keep high-voltage access with the technician
Owners should not disconnect drive-unit wiring or probe an unidentified sensor circuit. The correct isolation, access and test procedure depends on the vehicle. An apparently small signal connector can sit within an assembly requiring controlled high-voltage work.
Contact AXION with the report to confirm the supported diagnostic scope. Agree vehicle transport and any removed-assembly handling before dispatch; the code alone is not enough to promise a particular repair.
